I just returned from Fastener Tech ’15 and, as I said before, it was a great event. I tend to spend as much time on the trade floor as I can networking with customers and suppliers. But a lot of people take time to go hear speakers or take classes and there were plenty of them at the show:”
“3 on 3 – A Discussion on the Latest Industry Trends” – FCH Sourcing Network
“Buyer Beware” – compliments of MWFA
“Making Fasteners from Beginning to End” – presented by Fastener Technology International
“People and Organizational Management in the 21st Century” – presented by WIFI
There was also a Fastener Training Institute “Fastener Technology Workshop” held on the day before the show.
So, with the National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo coming up in October, I looked up their schedule of classes and speakers:
Again, FTI will be offering another Fastener Technology Workshop.
“Controllers, Accounting, Credit & Account Receivable Managers Meeting” – presented by the National Fastener Industry Suppliers Financial Manager Network & Business Credit Management Association (BCMA) —- almost got a hand cramp typing out that name
“Are You Making The Most of Specials?” – presented by Pac-West
“Cognitive Diversity and Creative Problem Solving: Innovation and Solutions from Out -of-Box Thinking” – presented by WIFI
I also am aware the Young Fastener Professionals are planning a presentation on their recent survey on Retaining and Attracting Employees. And during the show, there are two presentations by MANA on working with manufacturers reps.
There are many presentations, classes offered at fastener trade shows. Which of them do you find most valuable? What other kind of classes or speakers or conferences would you like to see presented at our National and Regional Fastener Shows? Also, what is the best time to offer these programs? Before the show, during the show, after the show?
What other types of programs would you like to see offered, regardless of cost?
