The fastener magazines and Fully Threaded Radio can report on the Table Top Show. For the record, I thought it was excellent. But one thing that might get unnoticed or overlooked that I think is worth noting. The sports bar that is right across the alley from the host hotel is one of the best meeting spots in all the fastener industry. It comes closest to the old days of Columbus. Whether you go there for lunch, mid-day between events/classes or in the evening, it is the go-to place for fastener people to hang out. More business and networking getting done in that sports bar than at most trade shows across the country. At least that is my observation.
TS – This is an astute observation, it felt like old times at the bar and the gathered group seemed to feel the same. The MWFA set this up right!
Not sure how much actual business was transacted, but lots of fishing pictures were shared.
Just published a Fully Threaded Radio special report episode with sound clips from the table top, plus highlights from the golf outing, 75th anniversary gala and the Tough Mudder race. http://www.fullythreaded.com

Mr. Traveling Salesman if anyone would know about places to meet for networking and getting things done and meeting new folks IT IS YOU !!
THE VERY BEST!
Booze flowing….Fastener industry?? It’s not really that hard to figure!
Us, Ole Timers still talk about the Hyatt bar in Columbus and all the bars in various suites set up by exhibitors I.e. MNP and Threaded Rod
Cultural shifts come slowly. Our generation was trained by alcoholics. The barroom was their milieu. But, laws have changed in the interim. Drinking alcohol is unquestionably detrimental to human health and presents added social risks. The future is uncertain, but for now, we can still reminisce over a few adult beverages. Just make sure your Uber or Lyft is active.
It’s a 50 foot walk from the hotel to the bar. No need to Uber.
Speak for yourself.
TS, I totally agree. I am sure that we will get a call from my accountant, asking if we have bought an interest in Real Time Sports, when he reviews our expenses for the trip 🙂
Lots of that going around.
