Tonight new honorary members Bruce Darling and Bob Lehman are with us. How cool is that?”
I saw that on Twitter this morning. Those are a couple fastener industry legends. Made me think — who would be in the fastener industry “60 over 60”?
I know out of my area, Bill Robb would be near the top of a lot of people’s lists. Got any others?
Another drinking club in the Fastener Industry? I now qualify… Cheers!
TS/All:
“Cool” is right! I believe it was great to have Bruce Darling and Bob Lehman at the recent PacWest meeting.
I have had the pleasure of knowing both of these fastener industry icons for many years.
I also want to recognize Bill Robb as a “60 over 60” candidate. I have know Bill for 35-plus years.
The Fastener Show Director, Susan Hurley, will know many others who have been around for a long time.
TS, if you will send me your personal email address I will send you a list of the National Industrial Fastener Expo “Hall of Fame” members. You might be interested in seeing all these names going back all the way to the beginning in 1982.

“60 over 60”. Is that 60 years in the industry, and over 60 years old?
The problem becomes that you might think someone is a good candidate for the 60 over 60, however, you could stick your your foot in your mouth if in fact they are under 60.
TS –
I know quite a few people, but one of the consistent traits of those “old school” players is to not succumb to the temptation of the spotlight. They read your blog, but never comment, even (especially) when their knowledge might add substance to the discussion. I agree that those people, who taught many of us over the years, should be acknowledged but, out of respect, my lips are sealed.
