Other people have sent me notes on EFC and Fabory.  I don't know.  I think both of those companies spend a lot of effort selling through other distributors.  Still, I know they have direct customers (like Bossard, I guess).  Difference with Bossard is they specifically went out and purchased "traditional" fastener distributors to get to the OEM market.

I guess I am trying to distinguish between companies that do have some end user business (but mostly sell through distribution) and those that spend the majority of their efforts selling to OEM or MRO markets direct.  While the big importers are "dsitributors" the majority of their business is still selling through distribution.  I know there will be exceptions and conflicts but that is to be expected.

While I think BISCO belongs on the list I don't really see this a the place for Brighton, Star, Vertex, Porteous, Stelfast, Heads, etc.  They all mostly sell to distributors.  The Tinnerman master distributors also I would omit from this list.  On the other hand there are probably several Huck Master Distributors I would add to the list.  Spencer??

I think the top 50 list is interesting. I will tell you the list that I would like to see. I'd like to see someone publish a list of the distributors that do not pay their bills. You know, the companies that string you out for 120 days and do not answer their phone. Or they tell you that the owner is not available when you call. How many times have you seen a company shut down, stiff the vendors and then set up shop under another name? T.S., I understand that you might not want to do that on this site but I wish someone would start the "Stiff List".

Lest we forget about Fontana. I was downsized from their US operation last spring, I was their National Sales Manager and for some reason nobody will touch me with a ten foot pole. They are still and always will be private but they do have operations all over the world.

Sorry to hear that Brad.  In case you are not familiar, I will direct you towards www.fastenerjobs.com .  Ken Graham has done a nice job with that site and I know people are always looking for jobs or people to fill them.

          Correct,
Fontana bought the facility in Frankfort, IN and changed the name to LEP Special Fasteners.

          QSN is now Anixter owned.

Excellent additions.  Although, I think Alloy & Stainless mostly sells to distributors.  Not sure about Chun Yu.  Not sure how I missed QSN, Trinity and certainly Whitesell.
